I LUOGHI DI SAN ROCCO
La storia di San Rocco è legata a doppio filo a quella di Sarmato, luogo in cui il pellegrino ha sostato per lungo tempo quando era malato di peste. I luoghi di San rocco sono nel centro del paese: la grotta è posizionata a lato della chiesa dedicata al Santo, alla fine di un viale alberato a lui dedicato; la fontana è in un’area verde ben tenuta ed è il luogo dove Rocco andava ad abbeverarsi.
IL LUNGO PO, IL BALLOTTINO, IL SENTIERO DEL TIDONE
Il Po dista poco dal paese ed è raggiungibile in bicicletta: è possibile percorrere il sentiero del Ballottino sia a piedi che in bici che a cavallo: si tratta di un’area completamente naturalistica, in cui il percorso è stato tracciato nel massimo del rispetto della vegetazione, al fine di lasciare l’area quanto più possibile inviolata. Si tratta di un luogo immediatamente a ridosso del fiume dove è possibile ammirare diverse piante autoctone e godere del silenzio della natura.

CASTELLO DI SARMATO
Una delle strutture più interessanti del piacentino. Mantiene Castello e ricetto. La roccaforte, secondo origini leggendarie, venne fondata nel V secolo; ricostruita svariate volte, quella attuale fu eretta dopo il 1216, in seguito all’attacco dei Pavesi; a questo luogo si lega la vicenda del pellegrino San Rocco e del cane che, secondo racconti agiografici, apparteneva a Gottardo Pallastrelli signore di Sarmato. E’ proprietà privata e aperta a vsite guidate.
Nel percorso di visita guidata: saloni affrescati e arredati, la sala dell’archivio, la grande sala da ballo, camere da letto e la “Sala dei filosofi” attribuita a Bonifacio Bembo.
